Algorecruit

Evidence-led technical search

We read the work,
not the resume.

Algorecruit runs evidence-led search for a select group of venture-backed US startups. Our agents read the entire public record of an engineer's work; senior recruiters vet the shortlist by hand. You meet only the few who clear both.

No retainer. No upfront fee. You pay a percentage only when a hire signs, and the first 90 days are covered by our replacement-first guarantee.

The best engineers are not looking. They are building in the open.

Algorecruit turns the public record of an engineer's work into the signal that fills your hardest seats.

What we read

A resume is a summary someone wrote about themselves. We read the work itself, across every place a serious engineer leaves a trail. AI gives us breadth, not verdicts: agents gather the evidence, a senior recruiter checks every source by hand and makes the call.

01

GitHub

Commit cadence, merged pull requests, the repos they maintain.

02

LinkedIn

Role changes, new skills, open-to-work signals, post activity.

03

Technical takes, launch announcements, ready-to-move signals.

04

Personal sites

Portfolios, blog posts, side projects, the work they show.

3

we would stake our name on

The last three are not just the best on paper. Each one has had a real conversation with a senior recruiter who confirmed they are open to moving, sized up the work behind the brief, and made sure the seat is a genuine fit before you ever see the name. Figures are representative of a single search.

Self-serve

Run the search yourself

The same engine we use for retained searches, self-serve. It reads the live web at query time, cites the source behind every claim, and verifies contact details the moment you reveal them.

How we vet

Every name we send, we have already spoken to.

The brief is read by a machine. The shortlist is met by a person. Before any candidate reaches you, a senior recruiter has had a live conversation with them. We confirm the work is theirs, pressure-test the depth behind the public record, and check motivation, comp expectations and notice period before a single name lands in your inbox. You never spend a first call discovering someone is not actually looking, or cannot do what their GitHub suggests.

Calibration call

Before we read a single profile, we build the scorecard with you: the three or four things this engineer must have done, what looks impressive but does not matter for your stack, and what makes your seat worth leaving a strong offer for. Every brief is graded against it.

02

Agents read the work

We map the field, then read what candidates have actually built. Merged PRs, open source, talks, writing. Every finding logged with its source.

0330 to 45 min each

We interview the shortlist

Before any name reaches you, a senior recruiter spends real time with each finalist: what they are looking for, comp expectations, notice period, and whether your seat is a genuine step up. Everyone you meet has already said yes to a conversation about you.

04

You get the brief

Within 48 hours, an anonymized brief of real candidates. Cited, scorecard-graded, and backed by a real conversation. Sign terms for names and warm intros. Most searches close in 4 to 6 weeks.

The deliverable

searches typically close in 4 to 6 weeks

For context, a senior AI or infrastructure hire in the US usually carries a base in the low to mid six figures. One wrong hire at that level costs more in lost months than our fee, which is why we only take searches we expect to close.

Clause 3 · Replacement-first guarantee

“If a placed candidate resigns or is dismissed for performance within 90 days of their start date, we will run a replacement search for the same role at no additional fee. If we cannot present a suitable replacement within 30 days, we will refund the fee for that placement in full.”

Read the full terms

If it does not work out in 90 days, neither do we.

If a placement leaves or is let go within 90 days of their start date, for any reason other than a layoff or role elimination, we run the search again at no additional fee. Replacement first, because the right hire is the point. You pay only on a signed offer, and never upfront.

Still deciding? The fastest way to judge us is the brief itself. Fifteen minutes, no prep, and you see real candidates for your role.

For hiring teams

Is this just AI scraping profiles?+

No. Agents do the reading at scale, but a senior recruiter hand-vets and interviews every candidate on a live call before you see them. You never get an AI-only pick.

What if the hire does not work out?+

The first 90 days are covered. We replace the role first, at no additional fee, before any refund conversation.

How is the fee different from a normal agency?+

Same success-fee model, 20 to 25 percent of first-year base, paid only on a signed offer. The difference is what you get: cited evidence of real work and a candidate we have actually spoken to, not a stack of resumes.

Do I have to sign an exclusive or commit time upfront?+

No exclusivity required, and your only commitment is the calibration call. We do the work, you review three names.

What roles do you cover?+

Senior AI/ML and infrastructure engineers for venture-backed US startups, typically Series A and B, founding through staff level. If your search sits outside that, we say so on the call.

For engineers

Will you spam me?+

No. We reach out once, about one specific role, referencing your actual work. If it is not for you, that is the end of it.

Will companies see my name without permission?+

Never. Nothing goes to a client until we have spoken and you have said yes.

Selective by design

We run a small number of searches at once, on purpose. One senior recruiter owns your search end to end, and we will not run a competing search in your exact market while yours is live.

For candidates

If we reach out, we have done our homework.

We do not mass-message. If an Algorecruit recruiter contacts you, it is because we read your actual work and believe one specific role is worth your time. One message, real context, no funnel.

01

Only the best rooms

We represent you only to companies an exceptional engineer would actually want to join, and never to a list.

02

About your work, not your title

Our first message names a specific thing you built and why it matters to the role. No copy-paste, no spray.

03

You stay in control

Nothing goes to a client until we have spoken and you have said yes. Fully confidential, always.

“I ignore recruiters. They opened with a line about a specific pull request of mine and why it mattered to the role. First time I have ever replied.”
